Easy Green Smoothie

A week before devising this recipe I was at Jamie Oliver and Alex James’ Big Feastival. During this event Alex James launched a new blue cheese (Blue Monday) designed for people “who don’t like blue cheese”. Alex loves blue cheese and is looking to get some converts. This got me thinking.

Green Juicing for Juicing Newbies

I love green juices, but they are without doubt the hardest juices to persuade people to try. Then, a friend of mine mentioned that his wife enjoys some of the juices he has been making, but gags whenever she attempts to try the green ones. The challenge was on to come up with a green juice recipe for beginners. A green juice that those who love green juice would enjoy, but also one for those people “who don’t like green juice”. I think I’ve cracked it, but would love to hear your feedback!

Juicing: Easy Green Smoothie

Juicy Ingredients

  • 3 romaine leaves
  • 2 apples
  • 1/4 pineapple
  • 1/3 cucumber
  • 1/2 stick of celery
  • 1/2 avocado

How to Make It

  1. Wash / clean all the produce
  2. Juice the romaine
  3. Juice the cucumber
  4. Juice the celery
  5. Juice the apples
  6. Chop and juice the pineapple
  7. Remove the skin and stone from the avocado and place it in a blender. Pour over the juice and blend until smooth.

I use the Optimum 600 cold press juicer and the Optimum 9400 blender.
