Did you know romaine lettuce is 17% protein? One of the questions sceptics always ask about plant based nutrition is where do you get your protein, well the good news is romaine is also a complete protein with all 8 essential amino acids.

Romaine is also a great source of calcium, iron, B-vitamins, omega-3s and contains more vitamin C than an orange! This leafy green is a much overlooked superfood and hence I decided it was time to dedicate a juice recipe to one of natures finest.

Juicing: Romaine Goddess Green Juice Recipe

Juicy Ingredients

  • 10 romaine leaves
  • 2 apples
  • 1/3 cucumber
  • 2 sticks of celery
  • 1/2 lime (peel the lime if you want the juice less zesty)
  • 1 thumb sized chunk of ginger (or a bit more if you are feeling brave!)

How to Make It

  1. Wash / clean all the produce
  2. Juice the romaine leaves
  3. Juice the cucumber
  4. Juice the lime
  5. Juice the celery
  6. Juice the ginger
  7. Juice the apples

I use the Optimum 600 cold press juicer and the Optimum 9400 blender.
