I am really pleased to have been given the opportunity to interview the amazing Polly Noble. Having faced cancer twice by the age of 28, Polly is on a mission to kick cancers butt and heal herself using a holistic natural approach. She is passionate about using her journey on the cancer train to help others arm themselves with everything they need to know to create health and happiness. Her motto is, “Go green, get clean”. Oh and she is a self proclaimed juice junkie!
Neil Martin: I am a regular reader of your website and love the positivity you share on Facebook and Twitter. For those not familiar with your work, how would you describe yourself?
Polly Noble: Lifestyle advisor, health coach, author, wellness writer
Neil Martin: Were you always interested in health and wellness, or did your health journey start with your cancer diagnosis?
Polly Noble: I have always been really interested in detoxing and loved the idea of cleansing. So when I cleaned up my diet, juicing slotted in perfectly.
Neil Martin: What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt through your cancer journey?
Polly Noble: That nothing’s permanent and that even when there are bad times and you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, eventually it does come and so do the good times. ‘This too shall pass’
Neil Martin: What do you think you would be doing now if you’d never been diagnosed with cancer?
Polly Noble: No idea! Id probably have set up an animal sanctuary or animal farm.
Neil Martin: You say in your mission statement that you want to “inspire others to live a happier and healthier life.” Which do you think is more essential to health and wellbeing, exercise or diet and nutrition?
Polly Noble: That’s a tricky one because I think both are important but if one has the edge it would have to be diet and nutrition because that is your fuel and what your cells thrive off. You can look fit but still be unhealthy on the inside.
Neil Martin: I’ve read that you like to do yoga and when you used to dance you were known as “the flexible one”. How much and what kinds of exercise do you do now?
Polly Noble: I mainly stick to yoga and pilates reformer these days. I currently have a fractured foot so I’m having to go easy and not walk around too much which I’m failing at miserably!
Neil Martin: I’ve tried some of your raw food recipes and they were simply delicious (I especially liked the raw chocolate orange bar I had on one of my visits to The Core in Swindon). Is your diet 100% raw? And /or are you vegan?
Polly Noble: I’m not 100% raw at the moment and I don’t put myself into a category as such but I always try to eat high raw with a small portion of cooked foods in the winter because I have bad circulation in my fingers and toes and am often cold! I can’t say I’m vegan because I eat bee pollen and raw honey and I occasionally eat a piece of fish so I guess I’m pescatarian.
Neil Martin: What do you eat / drink on a typical day?
Hot water & lemon
Orange, lemon and ginger juice
Salad for lunch
Cooked vegetable soup for dinner
Neil Martin: When did you first start juicing and how did you first learn about the idea?
Polly Noble: When I was diagnosed with cancer at 24, I started juicing and never stopped! I think I might have seen Jason Vale go over to Jordans house and juice with her but im not sure if I already knew about it by then or not but I remember seeing that.
Neil Martin: On your blog you admitted that you once boiled milk in a kettle to make a hot chocolate and ruined the kettle. What has been your biggest juicing mistake and why?
Polly Noble: I don’t think ive had any major catastrophes but with the Norwalk I did manage to paint the ceiling orange with chunks of carrot everywhere because if you don’t put the feeder in the shoot soon enough it all spits out at you!
Neil Martin: If you were stuck on a desert island with a working juicer and blender and an unlimited supply of just 6 ingredients, what would those ingredients be?
