I am a huge fan of beetroots (beets). This little red root vegetable, that Paralympic gold medalist David Weir CBE describes as “much better than caffeine“, helps the body to protect the blood vessels from injury, while expanding blood vessels, increasing the flow of oxygen to the cells. Mixed with right ingredients it makes a delicious juice too!
- 1/2 beetroot (beet)
- 2 oranges (skin peeled – pith left on)
- 1/4 pineapple
- 1 thumb sized chunk of ginger (or a bit more if you are feeling brave!)
- 1/4 avocado
How to Make It
Juice the beetroot, oranges, pineapple and ginger, then blend with the avocado. Best served over ice. Note: the avocado should have the skin and stone removed.
