Kitten the Juice Pirate and I both receive lots of questions, that we have decided to post answers to here on NaturalJuiceJunkie.com. Karinna L Serantes asked:

“Chia seeds..best way to use them?”

Kitten the Juice Pirate says: I add the serving size to a juice I made the night before and let the chia seeds soak. You use them in pudding, soups, making crackers put them on salads. Chia is said to aid in weight loss.

Neil Martin, Natural Juice Junkie says: I discovered chia seeds when I read the book Born To Run. I love blending a variety seeds with berry smoothies. My favourite seeds to use are chia, pumpkin and sunflower. I also use seeds in yoghurt. My favourite yoghurt is made by COYO and is a vegan yoghurt made from coconut milk.

Some Benefits of Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are rich in polyunsaturated fats, especially omega-3 fatty acids that can help reduce inflammation, enhance cognitive performance and reduce high cholesterol. In fact, they are one of the richest plant-based sources of these omega-3s.

Chia seeds are a great source of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and manganese. They are also rich in antioxidants that help protect the body from free radicals, ageing and cancer.
