That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” Neil Armstrong famously said as he stepped off the lander’s footpad and onto the moon. Thing is, the giant leaps we can make in our health are often created with small steps.
Recently there has been a lot of focus in the media on extended juice fasting, no doubt prompted by documentaries like Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead that featured a 60 day juice fast and Super Juice Me that followed 8 people living on juice for 28 days.
Whilst extended juice fasts / juice detoxes / reboots, may be appropriate for some, they are not the only way to get success from juicing. In fact, you can see significant health improvements without ever doing a juice detox.
Personally the longest period I’ve spent on juice only is around 7 or 8 days.
Has this created a giant leap in my health? Hell yes – I’ve freed myself from prescription medications and achieved a weight loss of over 75 pounds (more than 5 stone).
If you’ve been reading Mark Beddoe’s juicing journal you will know that he has followed my lead and using a similar approach has now shed 80 pounds (over 5.5 stone).
Even adding just one freshly extracted, live juice per day to your lifestyle can start to deliver benefits. If you do this consistently all the small steps will start to compound and create the giant leaps many of us desire.
